  • What conditions do items need to be in to donate?
If you would give it to a mate, then give it to a Donate It bin. Please make sure your items are in good sellable condition. Please no broken or damaged items or toys missing pieces. Charity retailers love items that are in good condition and can simply be priced and put out for sale. Most charity retailers do not fix or repair items.
  • Where do I leave the items for collection?
In an easily accessible place! Near the letterbox, front gate, front porch, or in a carport is perfect. Unfortunately, Donate It can not enter your house to collect donations. Also, if your house is tricky to find, or is missing the number from the letterbox please let us know.
  • What happens to your preloved goods once they have been collected?
This is where the magic happens! We: ✅ Sort all clothing, shoes, accessories, homewares, bric-a-brac, books, media, toys and manchester packed into the bins and crates. ✅ Select items required for the charity stores located throughout Gippsland and Melbourne. ✅ Removes any unsalable items due to damage or missing parts and separates into reuse, recycling, or waste streams. ✅ Pack all resealable items into boxes and bags ready to be distributed to charity stores ✅ Arranges for your donations to be delivered to to the charity store.
  • How does this help charity stores?
✅ Stores receive the stock they require and that their customers are asking for. ✅ As items are pre-sorted, they simply need to be priced and placed onto the sales floor to sell. ✅ They utilise their precious volunteers' time more efficiently by removing the sorting and stock selection process. ✅ They incur no waste costs as all waste has been removed.
